BIOGRAPHY

_DSC2977 Ozgur Tuncer was born in Istanbul. He studied piano at the Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory with Professor Metin Ogut. Upon graduating first in his class, he continued with Prof. Metin Ogut towards attaining his master’s degree. He did his thesis studies with Prof. Filiz Ali; and he completed his doctoral degree with Prof. Hulya Tarcan.

In addition to teaching at the university, the artist regularly took stage and gave concerts in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Eskisehir, Afyon, and many European cities.

Ozgur Tuncer, who participated in many television and radio programs as a guest, performed as a soloist in concerts with the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra, MSGSU State Conservatory Orchestra, and  Eskisehir Metropolitan Municipality Symphony Orchestra. He also gave solo recitals at Cemal Resit Rey International Piano Festival, International Eskisehir Festival, Izmir International Festival, International Istanbul Music Festival, Afyon Classical Music Festival, Izmir Art Center, Akbank Art Center and Sureyya Concert Hall.

Ozgur Tuncer participated in a competition organized by the “Conferenza Musicale Mediterranea” in Palermo, Sicily. He was selected by the jury to give a concert in Sicily; and he was included in a CD recording which was made to honor the event. He represented Turkey in the world’s most prestigious piano competition, Belgium’s “International Queen Elizabeth Piano Competition.” Ozgur Tuncer also gave a recital in France (Marseille) consisting of compositions by French and Turkish composers within the framework of the organization of Mediterranean countries. The artist performed at the opening of the 12. International Eskisehir Festival accompanied by the Eskisehir Metropolitan Municipality Symphony Orchestra.
